| History During 1980 two close friends Allan Seal and Bert Duffy decided to start a knitwear business. They created the company BRENIRE KNITWEAR based on their wives christian names, Brenda and Irene. Their combined knowledge covered knitting on fully fashioned machinary and the production of suede and leather garments. With this background they were encouraged to unite their skills to produce a unique country garment.
For twenty years they have worked hard producing a quality range of heavy gauge men's knitwear with an outdoor country theme. Many of the styles feature real suede patches on the shoulders and/or the elbows. These have proved to be extremely popular with the gentlemen who enjoy outdoor pursuits such as fishing, shooting and stalking. During the past year there has been a fashion trend towards this style of garment and you can now see them worn by both sexes as a lifestyle statement.
During the last two decades the production capacity has been successfully filled primarily by UK retailers keen to stock a well-constructed garment made from top quality wool. The company has supplied most of the famous retailers who specialize in this sporting image.
Brenire Knitwear has recently agreed a clothing contract with IAN STARK, the successful three-day eventer. Winner of the famous Badminton Horse Trials on numerous occasions including 1999, their 50th anniversary. Ian Stark has returned from the Olympic Games in Sydney with a well earned Silver Medal. A new range of equestrian knitwear was launched in January 2000 bearing the new Ian Stark emblem. |
